On 11 September 2021, system-wide scale-up (L3) activated following withdrawal of US armed forces. 5.3 million people in need of nutrition assistance (Jan-June 2021)


In response to deteriorating humanitarian situation in northern Ethiopia, system-wide emergency (L3) activated on 26 April 2021. 7.1 million people in need of nutrition assistance (Jan-June 2021)


Due to the scale and complexity of the emergency following the earthquake in August 2021, a Level 2 Emergency was declared triggering additional support.
