Mid-year report 2021

January to June 2021

Current Challenges
  • Low levels of exclusive breastfeeding in affected areas pre-earthquake
  • Needs have been compounded by flooding subsequent to the earthquake
  • Lack of data on IYCF-E needs to assist in planning and supply in areas affected by the earthquake
  • Lack of funding to cover the nutrition supply needs for the second semester of 2021
  • Lack of financial resources to carry out periodic monitoring of nutrition interventions in the field
  • Nutrition data generated at community level is not reported separately in the national database (SISNU)
  • Closure of health centers located in the areas that are difficult to access due to the security situation (gang violence)
  • Lack of funding to establish mother/parent groups to scale-up community IYCF and outpatient treatment through mobile teams (mobile PTA)
