Key advocacy messages

The humanitarian landscape in Mozambique remain extremely vulnerable to climate shocks and conflict with increased need for preparedness.

Key Ask: Donor and partner support to ensure preparedness plan and prepositioned supplies in vulnerable districts

Limited humanitarian presence in hard-to-reach areas with increased humanitarian needs following the cyclonic season.

Key Ask: Donor and partner support to increase HR capacity in NiE and intersectoral collaboration with health, food security, WASH and protection

Nutrition sector is poorly funded, with 67 per cent funding gap to meet the critical lifesaving needs of most vulnerable populations

Key Ask: Donor support to mobilize $3M urgently and $16.6M to support interventions through end of 2022. 

Lessons learned from recent response to tropical cyclone revealed urgent need to expand coverage of nutrition humanitarian programs for timely response
