Information Management checklist (nutrition cluster)

Purpose of the Checklist
This checklist serves multiple functions and is designed to support various stakeholders in strengthening Information Management (IM) practices within the nutrition cluster/sector. Specifically, it can be used as:
• A self-assessment tool for country Information Management Officers (IMOs) to reflect on and improve the IM systems, processes, and outputs.
• A framework for external audits conducted by the Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) or other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• A practical guide to promote consistency, completeness, and quality in the implementation of IM functions across diverse country contexts and operational environments.
By serving these complementary purposes, the checklist helps align IM efforts with sectoral standards and fosters continuous improvement.

Structure of the Checklist
The checklist is structured around six core pillars, each representing a set of essential Information Management (IM) functions and outputs that directly support the Humanitarian Programme Cycle (HPC). These pillars are aligned with the requirements of the Competency Framework for Information Management and the IMO responsibilities outlined in the GNC infographic on IMO roles and responsibilities.
