Understanding and working through existing nutrition coordination platforms in humanitarian contexts

Nutrition response coordination in humanitarian contexts should be carried out through national and local coordination structures and platforms when these are available. Different types of coordination modality may be available, depending on the context. Understanding how these coordination mechanisms function and how the cluster coordination team can complement them is essential to strengthening the response and building local capacity.

In this module you will:

  • Explore the different types of coordination platform that may exist nationally in a country prior to an emergency
  • Understand how the nutrition cluster coordination team can work through and support existing coordination platforms
