Malawi Nutrition Update Issue No. 33 May 2019

SAM admissions dropped by 5.1%, comparing March to April admissions from 3532-Mar. to 3351- April) When compared to same time last year, there is a 16% drop (3,986- April 2018 to 3,351- April 2019) MAM admissions equally dropped by 7% from 9,173- March 2019 to 8,531- April 2019. Correspondently, there is 7% drop when compared to the same time period- 9,126- April 2018 to 8,531- April 2019. SAM Cure Rates in April is at 93.0% and MAM Cure Rates at 84.9%. Death rates is at 2.0% compared to 2.9% in March, a 0.9% drop between March and April. All performance indicators are within SPHERE minimum standards.
